Big Moor Rainbow

The appropriately named Big Moor on the outskirts of Sheffield in the Peak District National Park is a place of isolation, chill winds and endless views. Home to the Peak Districts Red Deer population this is a spot popular with wildlife photographers as well as walkers. On this day I was in the Peaks to capture some photographs of the Red Deer as it was the rutting season. It was a very bleak Octobers day, with wind and rain blustering all about. Just as I was walking back to the car the sun burst through the clouds briefly, giving this full rainbow for a few seconds, before it was lost.
