Roach End Barn - Peak District National Park

I had seen this compositions a few times but when a friend, Francis Taylor, showed me a similar shot I just had to go and shoot it for myself. This is Roach End Barn on the out edge of the Peak District National Park. I love the way that the stone wall leads in to the photograph, taking the eye to the beautiful golden light caught in the tree. As the sun dropped under the cloud edge I just had to shoot the sun star. Beautiful. You can find Roach End Barn on Google Maps. Parking near to the cattle grid before the bend in the road but be careful not to block any gates as this is farm land. There are plenty of shot options here, shooting the barn as the main subject from either the left or the right, and any time of year. If you want to shoot the barn from the side I would recommend waiting until later in the year when there are less leaves on the trees.
